Concerts, marathon, and major events
From August 31 to September 6, Medellín combines major entertainment with sports, culture, and live music. The week's confirmed highlights include Arcángel, the Medellín Marathon, TEDxMedellín, MedeJazz, ExpoRunners, and the closing activities of Medellín's Youth Week, creating an especially diverse calendar for visitors and locals.
Arcángel – 20th Anniversary
Arcángel arrives in Medellín to celebrate 20 years of his career with one of the week's biggest urban music events. “La Maravilla” will take over the Estadio Atanasio Girardot for a stadium-scale show celebrating two decades of music and the historic connection between Puerto Rico and Medellín within reggaeton culture. Demand was so strong that the originally announced September 5 concert sold out, leading to a second show on Friday, September 4. Both dates are confirmed by the official ticketing platform and promoter.

Medellín Sistecrédito Marathon 2026
The Medellín Sistecrédito Marathon returns for another edition, transforming the city's streets into one of Colombia's most important sporting stages. With more than 30 years of history, the event attracts national and international runners across 42K, 21K and 10K distances, plus a recreational 5K race the previous day. The 42K and 21K courses are World Athletics certified, while the full marathon is also a Boston Marathon qualifier. More than 26,000 athletes are expected for Sunday's main races, making it one of Medellín's biggest events of the weekend.
Location: different streets across Medellín; the 42K and 21K start near Parque de las Luces, the 10K starts at Parques del Río, and all distances finish near the EPM Building and Parque de los Pies Descalzos.

TEDxMedellín 2026 – Creating Together
TEDxMedellín returns in 2026 for a day dedicated to ideas, innovation, and transformation under the theme Creando Juntos (“Creating Together”). The event will bring scientists, entrepreneurs, artists, writers, and business leaders to Teatro Metropolitano José Gutiérrez Gómez to share perspectives capable of challenging how we think about the present and future. Confirmed speakers include Liliana Restrepo, co-founder and CEO of Frisby; Juan Pablo Raba, international actor and producer; María Catalina Prieto, executive director of
Filarmed; writer Gilmer Mesa; and digital transformation and education expert Claudia Aparicio.

MedeJazz 2026 – 30 Years of Jazz & World Music
The Medellín International Jazz & World Music Festival – MedeJazz celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026, bringing together musicians from Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela, and the Netherlands. The festival begins this weekend with one of its main concerts, featuring Cuba's legendary Orquesta Aragón, the EAFIT Symphony Orchestra, Joseph Amado Live Experience, and Andrés Hernández. The complete September program features eleven concerts and four masterclasses, continuing three decades of one of Medellín's established international music festivals.

ExpoRunners 2026 – Medellín Marathon
As the official lead-up to the Medellín Marathon, ExpoRunners 2026 brings runners, sports enthusiasts, and running brands together for two days. In addition to serving as the official race-kit pickup location, the event features sports brands, running gear, technology, wellness products, and interactive experiences. Visitors don't need to be marathon participants to enjoy the expo, making it another way to experience the sporting atmosphere taking over Medellín during the weekend.
