Halloween in Medellín 2026: plans, music and experiences for the weekend

Halloween arrives in Medellín with an agenda that goes far beyond one night of costumes.

This year, the celebration stretches across several days and mixes music, theater, film, culture, family activities and horror experiences. From October 29 through November 1, different spaces across the city offer special programming for visitors looking for a different way to celebrate.

For those looking for a cultural plan, Frankenstein: La herencia oscura at CasaTeatro El Poblado is one of the most interesting options, bringing Mary Shelley’s universe to the stage through a contemporary interpretation.

Music and dancing are also part of the weekend. La Pascasia will host El Baile de los que Sobran – Halloween Special on October 31, combining costumes, music and the atmosphere of Medellín’s independent cultural scene.

There is also a tropical option with El Porro es Legal: Noche de Brujas Special, featuring live Colombian music, dancing and a costume contest.

For something completely different, Halloween Sinfónico: Fiesta de las Galaxias takes place at Universidad EAFIT on October 31, combining symphonic music, film, astronomy and science in a family-friendly experience.

Families can also find free activities across the city. Medellín’s local government is organizing Halloween programming from October 30 through November 1 at several Community Development Centers, including children’s parties, movies, parades and a haunted house.

The city’s public library system is also joining the celebration with activities such as Concierto en clave de Halloween, while INDER Medellín has offered Núcleo del Terror, a free experience built around suspense, challenges and Halloween-themed environments.

What makes Halloween in Medellín interesting is the variety. Visitors can begin the day with coffee, enjoy a cultural activity, have dinner with friends, dress up and end the night at a concert, party or horror experience. For travelers, it is also a good opportunity to explore different neighborhoods. El Poblado, downtown Medellín, Laureles and other areas each offer a different atmosphere. Manila, in El Poblado, can work as a comfortable base for this type of weekend, with cafés, restaurants and walkable streets during the day before heading out to different events at night. This year’s Halloween also falls right before a long holiday weekend, giving visitors more time to enjoy the city without making everything depend on a single night.

The best way to experience Halloween in Medellín may be to treat it as a full weekend rather than just one party. Theater, music, culture, dancing, horror, costumes and family plans all coexist within the same city. Because Halloween in Medellín is not only about wearing a costume. It is about choosing what kind of night you want to live.
